Two Can Keep a Secret

Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen M. McManus

Two generations of homecoming queens have been attacked. Will there be a third?

Twins Ellery and Ezra have just moved into Echo Ridge, a seemingly perfect small town with secrets lurking underneath. With one girl missing, Sarah, and one dead, Lacey, these unsolved crimes have lurked over Echo Ridge like a dense fog. Everyone has their own secrets, and they will do whatever they can to protect them. Ellery is determined to get to the bottom of the crimes, especially because the girl who disappeared was her aunt. Though she and her family have long given up hope that Aunt Sarah will come home, Ellery is determined to bring about justice for her aunt. Except, she’s on the clock. Threats have once again been popping up in Echo Ridge. And Ellery is on the homecoming court, a dangerous position to be in given it’s history. When another girl on the court goes missing, Ellery and her friends race to make sense of the limited clues and protect the future of Echo Ridge. But will it be enough?

What a book! Two Can Keep a Secret definitely kept me on my toes, and I didn’t want to put it down! Honestly, I normally don’t gravitate towards mystery novels, but the refreshingly modern take Ms. McManus brings to all her books keeps me engaged and wanting more. Her ending, especially in this book, is so clear, and I think if I were to go back and reread it, I would find so many clues that I previously looked over. She also has a more popular book called One of Us is Lying, and its sequel One of Us is Next, which are fantastic as well. Overall, I really would recommened this book if you are a mystery junkie or looking for a book you simply cannot put down.

Thank you so much for reading! I really recommend this book, even if you don’t typically like mystery novels. It is definitely one of my favorite quarantine reads, and I hope it becomes one of yours as well! Comment below if you figure out who did it, or any of your guesses along the way. The two usual links to purchase the book on Amazon and to learn more about the author (who again has some amazing other books!) are below as well. Happy July, and I’ll see you in two weeks!
