Wildcard (Sequel to Warcross)

Wildcard by Marie Lu

*Note: If you are planning on reading Warcross and have not done so yet, please do not read this book review at this time, as it may contain spoilers*

In the epic sequel to Warcross, Emika is torn between two sides: the person that she loves, and the cause she believes in. With her perception of good and evil twisted, it seems like she is fighting for both parties for different reasons. In what seems like a vain effort, Emika tries to stop Hideo from taking over everyone’s minds, even if what he’s trying to do would ultimately save lives. She also makes it her goal to reunite Hideo with Zero, who is his long lost brother and muse, Sasuke. But both of these tasks are easier said than done, and what can one girl do, especially with the fate of the world in her hands?

At this point, I think this blog should just turn into a Marie Lu fan page. Wildcard was yet another terrific book by this incredible author. The character development from book one to book two was superb, and the strong, endearing character of Emika was possibly even more poignant in Wildcard than in Warcross. There weren’t as many unexpected events in this second book than in the first, and I could expect a little more what was going to happen next, but there were for sure a couple twists I didn’t see coming. Overall, I highly HIGHLY recommend you read books 1 and 2 (Warcross and than Wildcard) because they are two fantastic books to read this winter.

Thanks so much for reading! Sorry this review was a little shorter, but I wanted to minimalize the opportunity to give away too much about either of these books. If you guys read this series, please comment below! I’d be so interested in hearing what y’all have to say. I will have Marie Lu’s website linked down below, as well as the link to purchase Wildcard on Amazon. Be on the lookout in the next couple of weeks for more great reads! I am well stocked up on reviews. Make sure to like, comment, follow, and share this post with anyone you think would enjoy. Thank you so much, and have a great rest of your day!
